Javad Amirian
Co-founder and AI head of Vive Robotics
Javad Amirian is a researcher at Inria, the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science, and also the co-founder and AI head of Vive Robotics, a startup company, based in Toronto, focused on small-size mobile robots. The company has designed and developed an autonomous robot for detecting and retrieving tennis balls from a tennis court.
Javad received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Inria in 2021, as a member of the CrowdBot H2020 European project, where he worked on the Human Trajectory Prediction (HTP) problem for navigation of robots in crowded spaces.
He obtained his master's degree from Sharif University of Technology (Tehran), working on motion planning problems. Javad has also been an active member of RoboCup between 2011-2015 and served as a technical committee member of the Iran Open Competition for three years.
